Brother Thain is a scruffy, bulbous nosed dwarf whose appearance is rather unattractive, boasting an extremely bushy beard and numerous ugly scars on his face and arms. More about him:
-Hates dogs and wolves.
-It is common practice not to stand to close to Brother Thain when he is near the dog pit, after several instances of him picking a fight with someone in order to get “knocked” into the dog pit so he could kill them. Unhappy fighting dog owners spread the word not to provoke him when he is watching near the pit edge.
-Tall people are untrustworthy, shorter people are reliable. Your integrity shrinks the farther it is removed from the ground.
-Has immense discipline, self-control, and stamina
-Dislikes elves, orcs, and arcane casters who use necromantic or charming magics.
-Likes nature and nature spirits, druids, etc. (except wolves)
-Rarely eats or sleeps when outdoors, meditates and drinks herbal infusions instead
-Spends a lot of time cleaning and polishing his arrows, feeling none are good enough for Liala
-Very protective of the sylph, who he refers to as the Nalfling.
-Often talks to his bow, or invisible beings around him.
-Spends a great deal of time stretching or hanging in weird positions, doing katas, or stringing and polishing his bow.
-Frequents Venelle’s bow shop, where he trades raw wood gathered in the forest for arrows. Also frequents the Feral Dog, and occasionally the Emporium, though he rarely goes inside, since he is unwelcome there after threatening the proprietors against exploiting or abusing the Nalfling.
-Wears ornate dwarven henna tattoes, which are an insane combination of dwarvish, ancient symbols, and gibberish. Also bow and arrow motifs are liberally mixed in for good measure.
-Wears old worn heavy robes that have re-sewn many times (Reni’s handiwork) and rugged, primitive sandals.
-Carries a large, stained knotted club that he uses to beat dogs to death with whenever the opportunity presents itself.
-His belt buckle is the upper skull of a small dog, and the cloak clasp that holds his cloak together is the iron-coated hinged skull and jawbone of another dog.
-His only dwarven relics are a dwarven dagger and hand axe that he carries in his backpack for woodcarving. He also carries a old battered dwarven ale mug on a loop on his belt, bearing the family crest apparently of a dwarvish clan.
